Grassroots - I can swim

The Grassroots swimming lessons are an excellent start for children who would like to begin with the very basics, or for more advanced swimmers who would like to develop their swimming skills. The program, created by Swimming/Natation Canada (SNC), offers instruction in all the basic strokes at three different stages.

The program consists of 2 practices per week, and is 8 weeks in duration.

We welcome new members and their families to join our group of enthusiastic young swimmers and we look forward to meeting you! If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Tier 4

This Tier is for young swimmers with a bit more technical expertise and a maturity/drive to swim 3 times a week, 1 hour each class, and to participate in regional swim meets. These are usually held in Kelowna, Penticton, Kamloops and perhaps Calgary. Attending swim meets is great fun for the children, and something they strive for when attending all the swim practices. Generally, the age range is 7 to 11 years of age.

Tier 3 - 2B - 2A

These Tiers are usually taught by our Assistant Head Coach. As swim club members, the swimmers are striving to improve upon technique and endurance, which only comes with hard work and commitment. Swimmers may attend up to 9 swim meets in the course of the year. Generally, the age range is 9 to 13 years of age. Tier 3 swims 4 times a week for a total of 4 hours per week. Tier 2B swims 5 times a week for a total of 5 hours per week. Tier 2A swims 7 times a week for a total of 9 ½ hours per week.

Tier 1

Tier 1 is intensive. These swimmers have been practicing their skills for a number of years and are wholly committed to the sport. They swim 9 times a week over 6 days for a total of 16 ½ hours per week! Depending on standings, these swimmers may attend Provincial, National and International swim meets, justly deserving the term Athlete. Generally, the age range is 13 to 18 years of age.

Both swimmers and parents have to be fully committed in order to be successful.
