VKSC has two swimmers at the Canadian Summer Nationals in Victoria this weekend.  You can follow Sarah Mackay and Joe Byram's progress at the following linck https://www.swimming.ca/liveresults/10SummerNationals/ .  112 swimmers will be selected at this meet to make up the Pan Pacifique team, the Nations Cup team and the Jr Pan Pacifique team, therefore there will be a lot of action here at the pool.
Congratulations to Laura Hulstein for winning a Silver Medal at the BC Summer Games in the 800 m Freestlyle in a personal best time of 9:58.65.
Congratulations to Florian Terpstra for winning a Bronze Medal at the BC Summer Games in the 400 IM in a personal best time of 5:22.35, a Bronze Medal in the 100 m Breaststroke in a personal best time of 1:18.62, a Bronze Medal in the 800 m Freestyle in a personal best time of 10:09.79, a Silver Medal in the 200 m Medley Relay with a best time of 2:07.28 and a Gold Medal in the 200 m Breaststroke in a personal best time of 2:46.88.



VKSC swimmers participated in the 2nd Annual Vernon Kokanee Open Water Challenge at Kin Beach in Vernon on Saturday, July 24, 2010. 
In the 1 km swim, Joe Byram came in 1st overall with a time of 15:39, Sarah Mackay came in 2nd overall with a time of 15:47 (1st female 17/18), Courtney Lee came in 4th overall with a time of 17:07 (1st female 13/14) and Kiah Lee came in 5th overall with a time of 17:38 (2nd female 12 & under).
In the 3 km swim, Wouter Terpstra came in 2nd overall with a time of 40:38 (1st male 17/18).


Congratulations to Emma Levorson, Emily Beatty, Laura Hulstein, Christina Slater, Josh Phillips, Florian Terpstra and Samuel Grenier for being selected on the BC Summer Games Team for Team Okanagan (Zone 2).  Congratulations also to Jamie Sullivan, Kenyon Neumann and Josh Phillips for making the BC games for Triathlon. 


Congratulations to Sarah Mehain for qualifying to the World long course Championships for IPC (International Paralympic Committee).  These championships will be held in Eindhoven, Netherlands in August.



 
The Vernon Kokanee Swim Club is a competitive swim club founded in 1966 and is a proud member of Swim BC and Swimming Canada. 

The club operates as a non-profit sports body to promote aquatics in the community of Vernon, BC.

With the goal of encouraging each athlete within the Vernon Kokanee Swim Club to "Be The Best That You Can Be" and to become a better person in the process, we are looking to serve the needs of each member and to become competitive with the best clubs in the country.
